Qtparted - a graphical partition editor

Messing around with partitions can be a somewhat tricky, and dangerous business (especially if you 'forgot' to do that backup before you get started). While there's not a lot you can do to make the concepts easier to understand or reduce the risks, there are several graphical tools for partitioning that can make it a little easier to do.

Postr to your Flickr

Finally caving to a Flickr account last night, I was off to go start uploading some pictures. Looking at the Flickr Uploaders page,  I saw a Java application that supposedly worked with Linux. After downloading and installing it, all I was able to get were Java errors, even though I had Sun Java 5 and 6 installed. Oh well, it was probably just an error on my part.

Krusader - the alternative KDE file browser

KDE users have for a long time had the jack-of-all-trades, all-singing-all-dancing Konqueror for file management. In KDE 4 we'll be joined by the new Dolphin which will be the default file manager.
