One would think that since Linux users have to jump through hoops to play restricted DVDs, that it would be difficult to make a DVD.
Welcome DeVeDe.

DeVeDe is a full-scale application to convert your movies to DVDs, (S)VCDs, CVDs, and DIVX formats. In a general sense, it is a GUI frontend to Mplayer’s “mencoder” which is able to convert between various formats.
DeVeDe keeps it simple with a generic track organizer, but if you want you can go advanced and tweak every clip down to subtitles. When you are ready, just render your video and wait a few hours (or less/more, depending on the length of the video).
Whether you are a videophile or just want to watch a clip on your TV, DeVeDe can do it. You can install it using your system’s preferred package manager and searching for devede.
