Don’t be an idiot like me when connecting remotely

Just thought I would share a neat little tip for anyone who connects to a remote machine and does stuff.

I learnt this tip the hard way - what I was doing was connecting via SFTP to a server, using Konqueror, my favourite all-purpose file manager. I put sftp://myserver into the location bar of Konqueror.

SSH tip - display a message to everyone when they log in

So, you've set up SSH as per my quick tutorial, but here's a nice, easy and quick tip to display a message to all users when they login.

You can put anything really - remind them to follow your guidelines, warn them that they shouldn't do anything nasty, some nice ASCII art perhaps - or just display a welcome message.

Linux tip - show the programs using CPU/RAM
