GNOME Do vs Launchy

Launchy and GNOME Do are both two launcher programs that are designed to let you quickly open applications and files and perform tasks you want done quickly, with just the tapping of a few keys.

Previously, Launchy had been an open source solution, albeit for Windows only, and GNOME Do was the Linux solution.

Gnickr - Access Flickr through your Filesystem

Advance warning: While this application does look like a cool program, I haven't been able to get it to actually work (everything is fine up until typing flickr:/// in Nautilus), on either Fedora 8 or Ubuntu Hardy. There have been reports of it working on older distros, for example you might have more luck if you are still running Ubuntu Edgy.

GNOME 2.30 = GNOME 3.0

This image has set the Internet on fire. No big details yet, but the main scoop is that GNOME 3 will also have GTK 3. Going by the current release schedule, that is a year and a half from now in 2010, unless things change.

What do you think will be in GNOME 3? What would you like to see in, or out?
