And out of left field, it's Nintendo! Never saw this one coming, did you?

The folks at OSNews have unearthed an interesting, not well-known discovery: Nintendo has released the "Nintendo ES" operating system, and not only that, but under an entirely free and open-source license.

MPAA hit with DMCA takedown after GPL violation

Ars Technica is reporting that the Motion Picture Association of America have been hit with a DMCA takedown notice after offering a download of an Ubuntu-based networking monitoring tool without source code, a direct violation of the GPL.

The MPAA software was supposedly designed to assist universities in detecting people using software to download and share copyrighted material and was apparently based on the Ubuntu Linux distribution.

Compile Epiphany from source to use WebKit

Please note - I managed to write this tutorial such that it works, right up to the step where you compile Epiphany. Where it fails miserably. WebKit builds fine, and you can use the test WebKit browser without a problem, but I was unable to get it to work completely.
