Slashdot is reporting that popular free software accounting package SQL-Ledger recently secretly changed their licence from the GPL to the SQL-Ledger Open Source Licence. The project leader did this without notifying anyone on the project.

Unix fundamentals - mount points

Today, I'm going to introduce the concept of mount points. Mount points are, in essence, folders in which external filesystems are mounted (their contents are dropped into that folder). We'll be going into that in a bit more detail in just a second. First of all, the obligatory Wikipedia definition:

The CentOS project have announced that CentOS 5, the next major version of the distribution has been released.

It has been announced on the Ubuntu development announcement mailing list that the next version of Ubuntu after the release currently in development, Feisty Fawn, will be called Gutsy Gibbon (version 7.10).
