Peter Upfold is a technology enthusiast from the UK. Peter’s interest in Linux stems back to 2003, when curiosity got the better of him and he began using SUSE 9.0. Now he runs Linux Mint 9 on the desktop, runs a CentOS-based web server from home for his personal website and dabbles in all sorts of technology things across the Windows, Mac and open source worlds.

Thanks for the video tutorial. I'd also be interested in a post on what application you used to create that video.

Thanks for the info. This saves me having to use multiple SSH's over a network. Brilliant!

@Justin - I use RecordMyDesktop for capture and various tools to stitch things together (Avidemux) and export out (Mencoder, ffmpeg, ffmpeg2theora) to the required formats for the site.

I'll definitely have a think about putting a post together about my video workflow in more detail (including how it is encoded for FLV) if there is interest, but as I'm on holiday in a couple of days time, it might be a while before it sees the light of day!
