Reinvigorate has one tool that I think is really cool: Snoop. It lets you watch site hits live in a separate window, see who's watching, stalk your visitors, etc. But it has a few problems:


  1. It only works with their service, and while free, you need to be on the invite list (as of today).
  2. It isn't open-source
  3. There is no Linux version.

Installing Audacity MP3 export support on Linux

Audacity icon Audacity is a very good free and open source audio editing application for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Unfortunately, due to patent restrictions, it is unable to import, export and manipulate MP3 files in the default install and this problem is usually present in the Linux version.

One would think that since Linux users have to jump through hoops to play restricted DVDs, that it would be difficult to make a DVD.

Yakuake - a drop-down terminal for KDE

There are plenty of different terminal programs out there for all different desktops. Yakuake is one such KDE-based terminal emulator with a difference.

It basically gives you a Quake-style drop-down terminal at the top of the screen, which you can access with a single keystroke. Installing Yakuake is extremely simple, especially if the application is your repositories. In the case of my Kubuntu system, a simple:
