I am relatively new to Linux and have downloaded this program but am unsure as how to install it can anyone help

Hi it depends on what linux distro your using, in Fedora I just put up a terminal log in as root with the command su - and then the password and runs yum install gtk-recordmydesktop. If your using Ubuntu use sudo apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop. Then is's installing it self.
